Three hectare park opens in Campbelltown
A three-hectare outdoor playground for families, Willowdale Park opened in October last year.
Located in a new estate within Campbelltown City Council, the park includes a 40m flying fox, water play area, a bike challenge area and much more – together with an observation deck supplied by Landmark Products.
The park construction described as “21st century fun” and opened by the local mayor was part of $600,000 spent by Campbelltown Council on parks in the 2016-17 financial year.
The Landmark 4.0 x 4.5 m timber structure (a modified Stromlo) includes a 14-metre access ramp, and a void in the centre where a “play net” has now been installed.
The ACQ treated hardwood decking and ramp, and steel balustrade panels are supported by 36 steel posts fixed into concrete footings.
The precision-manufactured structure was delivered on site in flat-pack kit-form, and installed by Landmark, who also supplied all engineers’ certificates. Installation included a lead-in concrete pathway, giving easy access to the ramp.
Landmark also supplied a 4m x 4 m Peninsula Shelter and park furniture for the increasingly popular park.
