Shelter Design Concept: Two (2) custom curved Roof shelters were constructed adjacent to each other to improve visibility of the boat ramp from the Volunteer Coast Guard building. One of the shelters is sized at 7.1 x 7.1 metres and provides a bigger shaded area with picnic settings for guests. The smaller shelter sized at 3.6 x 5.8 metres allow guests to have a glimpse of the bay while dining.
Structural Element: Each shelter is constructed of hot dipped galvanised steel posts and frames coated in a marine 2pac paint in Black RAL 9005. Cutek Standard stained pine timber screen frames and 86 x 69mm battens were affixed to the back posts to add a softer touch to the shelter’s design. All these shelters are equipped with Landmark’s Anti Vandal
Fastening System.
Roofing: The roofs were constructed with a Colorbond Custom Orb XRW grade roof sheeting in Sandbank color and manually curved onsite. The two curved roof shelters present a unique, attractive and uplifting presence in the area. 100 x 50 x 2.5mm RHS purlins and 125 x 75 x 4mm RHS rafters provide the frames for these unique shelters.
