Wood Plastic Composite looks, feels and smells like timber

Wood plastic composites offer a number of environmental and maintenance benefits and are rapidly gaining in popularity. Wood plastic composites can offer superior performance including durability, appearance, technology and environmental sustainability. It is the ideal replacement for hardwoods in harsh environments.


The fibre composites industry is quietly growing in the commercial sector and we are able to share with our clients the benefits it brings to public infrastructure projects. The manufacture of composite products like glass-or-carbon fibre reinforced plastics continues to expand due to the demand for these products in various industries, including aircraft, automotive, construction and marine.

With its exceptional durability, low life-cycle maintenance costs, high strength-to-weight ratio, and cost effectiveness, composite products are starting to replace traditional materials such as stainless steel and aluminium in corrosive environments.
Fibre composites have shown to be an ideal timber replacement material and Landmark Products Ltd sees great future for our boardwalk and bridge products.

All mild steel members used in our products are hot-dip galvanised after fabrication, and can be powder coated or painted to your preferred colour. We take every precaution during manufacture and installation and you can expect Landmark structures to retain their good appearance and provide many years of useful service with a regime of periodic inspection and prompt treatment for damage or deterioration.

Powder coated, hot-dip galvanised steel is considered an unsuitable finish for coastal environments
In corrosive environments we strongly recommend the use of timber components and stainless steel hardware for shelters, and for bridges and boardwalks, a combination of FRP and Einwood WPC materials. If this is not feasible, all hot-dip galvanised steel surfaces should be finished with a high quality two pack epoxy paint system as minimum, and subjected to a rigorous maintenance schedule. Failure to implement these requirements in marine environments will void the Landmark Products Ltd Structural Integrity Warranty.


We use either  premium quality plantation Hoop Pine or Western Queensland Hardwood (Spotted Gum or similar) in the manufacture of our products.

All timber components are factory stained with our standard Landmark CD50 oil based stain. Others stain colours are available upon request. (See our "Colour and Finish Options" in the "Downloads" section).

It is recommended that all treated timber is painted or stained. With all exposed timber products the periodic reapplication of a quality paint, stain or timber preservative is necessary to slow the long-term effects of weathering.

Provided our products are periodically inspected, treated and maintained, you can expect them to retain their good appearance and provide many years of useful service.

Our premium quality plantation Hoop Pine is stabilised and treated with safe Light Organic Solvent Preservatives (LOSP) to Hazard level 3. LOSP treatment is used for structures subject to moist environments where timber would be likely to experience fungal decay. The treatment is non corrosive and suitable for applications where dimensional-stability is important.

Our hardwood is select grade, sustainably harvested Western Queensland Hardwood (Spotted Gum or similar), ACQ treated to Hazard Level 3. Hardwood is Stress grade F14 or better (the majority being F17).

Ammoniacal Copper Quaternary (ACQ) preservative treatment provides greater safety of storage and application than CCA, yet retains similar performance. ACQ (Type B) is formulated with copper oxide and the Ammonium compound didecyldimethyl-ammoniumchloride.

Aluminium Composite Materials (ACM) are highly used in todays modern architectural building industry. They come in sheet form for cladding shops, buildings and even high end houses. It is chosen for its attractiveness and high durability. It can be used from high use built up areas to coastal environments due to the main use of inert materials.
